MOSH SHOES
Music Machines is a title I’ve given to a series of works that I made during the beginning of my sound sculpture practice. For the series, I adapted objects using music technology and through performative interaction made the objects/machines make sounds. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the work shows only me interacting with the majority of the ‘Machines’ it acted as my experimentation period with interactive sound art which since I have been able to make on a much greater scale and bring to larger audiences. The beauty of the ‘Music Machines’ is that it illustrates my initial fascination with sound as a translative medium as what I found is that through enabling sound into these otherwise mostly silent objects I was able to expand on their existence and communicate more about my/our relationship to the things around us.
