SOUND SCULPTURE/SOUND SET DESIGN

Brain Dance is an independent event run by Eiger Studios in Leeds and organised by DJ Lila. In collaboration with Lila, I have designed and created sound-reactive sculptures for the event. The first event makes further reference to my first light project “How to/not to deal with change” with the return of sound reactive triangles. However, this time with a development both in design quality through a better sense of materiality alongside a technology upgrade. The December Brain Dance comes less in the form of an installation and more of a single sculpture made up of 6 intricate, 60 degree, 1.5 metres curves that make a 9ft sound reactive ring. By informing these spaces with live input reactive technology these self-sustaining sculptures move/add to the audience in a way which man-handled DJ lights cannot simulate.
